Manchester City’s Yaya Toure is looking forward to taking on Shaun Wright-Phillips on Saturday when his team face QPR at Loftus Road.
Toure, who scored a brace in Wednesday’s Champions League win over Villarreal, has revealed that he and his team-mates will be delighted to see Wright-Phillips, who left City in the summer.
“It will be nice to see Shaun again, he’s a great player and a fantastic guy,” he told mcfc.co.uk.
“Everybody at the club loves him, and the fans love him too.”
City flew straight to London after their win in Europe to make sure they are fully prepared for their clash against Neil Warnock’s men, who recently shocked Chelsea when they beat them 1-0 at home – and Toure is aware that it will not be an easy match.
“It will be a fantastic game as well. QPR are doing well at home now, they beat Chelsea in their derby match the other week, so we know it will be a tough game,” he added.
“And we will have to concentrate on our game. We have to look at the football, that is what’ important to us, to make sure that we build on what we have done already this season.”
City will also face former Blue Joey Barton, with Toure adding: “I don’t know him well, but he seems to be a clever man and he’s been in good form for them.”
