Ipswich Town meet Arsenal while West Ham take on Birmingham in the Carling Cup semi-final draw, revealed on Wednesday.

Town may be struggling in the Championship – lying in 17th position – but Roy Keane’s men earned themselves a high-profile meeting with the Gunners courtesy of a 1-0 upset win at home against West Brom on Wednesday.

In the other two-legged semi, English Premier League duo West Ham and Birmingham clash after seeing off Manchester United and Aston Villa respectively.

The first leg of the semi-finals will take place in the week beginning January 10, with the second leg to be played in the week beginning January 24.

Ipswich Town will host Arsenal in the first leg of their tie, while the Hammers have that honour in the other semi-final.
