(GSM) – Trabzonspor held off a challenge from Antalyaspor on Wednesday to advance to the Turkish Cup final as they won 2-1 on aggregate despite a 1-0, second-leg defeat.
Trabzonspor held a 2-0 advantage from the first leg two weeks ago coming into the return fixture, and their defense started out the game doing a fine job.
But, in the 43rd minute, the tension began to build as Serge Djiehoua found the back of the net for Antalyaspor, cutting the aggregate deficit in half.
But that would be as close as the home side would get, ensuring Trabzonspor qualify for the 5 May final in Izmir against Fenerbahçe, who ousted Manisaspor on Tuesday.
