(GSM) – Trabzonspor moved into second place in the Turkish Super Lig following a 1-0 win over Besiktas on Sunday.

Besiktas had an opportunity to jump to second place themselves but needed a win in Trabzon to do so. Instead, it was the home side to clinch a narrow victory.

The only goal of the match was scored in the 51st minute and came from Mustafa Yumlu. Colombian Teofilo Gutierrez of Trabzonspor was sent off late in the second half, but his team held on to their lead to secure three valuable points.

Leaders Bursaspor had their winning streak ended in an away match to Istanbul BB, where neither side managed to make a difference: 0-0.
