Transfer Deadline Day

Italian champions Juventus have announced the signing of Domenico Berardi from Sassuolo.

Stoke City have completed the signing of Austria international striker Marko Arnautovic from Bundesliga side Werder Bremen for an undisclosed fee (believed to be in the region of £2 million), according to BBC Sport.

Arnautovic, 24, has put pen to paper on a four-year deal at the Britannia Stadium, becoming Mark Hughes’  fifth summer signing behind Erik Pieters, Juan Agudelo, Marc Muniesa and Oussama Assaidi.

The Austria international, who has won 27 caps for his country, bagged five goals and six assists in 26 league appearances for Bremen last season.

Juve sign Berardi from Sassuolo

Italian champions Juventus have announced the signing of Domenico Berardi from Sassuolo, Sky Sports understands.

Berardi, 19, has been loaned back to Sassuolo for the rest of the season, while Luca Marrone has joined the Neroverdi as part of a co-ownership agreement.

“Juventus Football Club announces that these agreements have been finalised with Sassuolo Calcio,” read a statement on the club’s official website.

“Definite disposal of the registration rights of the player Luca Marrone for 9 million euros to be paid over two years.

“At the same time Juventus and Sassuolo signed a player sharing agreement related to the same player for 4.5 million euros to be paid by Juventus in two years.”

Berardi scored 11 goals in 37 Serie B appearances for the Neroverdi last term.

Ilori to Liverpool

Liverpool have completed the signing of highly-rated Portuguese defender Tiago Ilori from Sporting Lisbon, according to the club’s official website, www.liverpoolfc.com.

The arrivals of Ilori, 20, and Mamadou Sakho, 23, from Paris Saint-Germain, for a combined fee of £25 million, gives Brendan Rodgers some much-needed defensive reinforcements as the Reds look to continue their strong start to the season when the Premier League resumes in two weeks.

Ilori, a London native, is delighted with the move, and understandably so.

“It feels great being a Liverpool player – coming to the Premier League has always been a dream for me,” said Ilori.

“I’m going to try and achieve everything I can. I want to play as much as possible and we’ll see what the future holds. I will give my all and try my best to help the team.”

Ozil set to join Arsenal

Real Madrid No. 10 Mesul Ozil is on the verge of joining Arsenal, with the two sides having agreed a £42 million fee for the Germany international, The Telegraph reports.

The deal would shatter the Gunners’ club record fee of £15 million, which brought Andrey Arshavin to North London from Zenit Saint Petersburg in February 2009.

Ozil, 24, has been offered a contract that would make him the club’s highest earner, with reports suggesting wages of around £150,000-a-week.

What a signing for Arsene Wenger. The Gunners’ best attacking quartet now includes the likes of Cazorla, Ozil, Walcott and Giroud. Not bad.
