Trevoh Chalobah was keen on leaving Chelsea for Bayern Munich in the final weeks of the summer transfer window. The Bavarians were interested in him as a potential replacement for Benjamin Pavard, but in the end, the move did not materialize. He then rejected a chance to join Nottingham Forest instead on Deadline Day, even though the two Premier League clubs had reached an agreement on the transfer fee at £25 million, and chose to stay put and fight for his place in Mauricio Pochettino’s team at Stamford Bridge.
However, the the 24-year-old defender is still expected to leave Chelsea in the upcoming January window, according to Fabrizio Romano.
A versatile defender, who can also play at the base of midfield, Chalobah is a product of the academy at Chelsea, and he had loan spells at Ipswich, Huddersfield and Lorient, on his way into the first-team ranks. Since earning his promotion to the senior squad, he has so far made a total of 63 appearances for the Blues in all competitions, scoring four goals and recording a single assist.
