Boca Juniors’ season is starting to take a disastrous form as the Buenos Aires outfit lost to Estudiantes for what is their third defeat in a row.

Estudiantes needed a win to defend their lead in the Argentinian Primera Division, and had a good start in this game as Jose Calderon opened the score after 11 minutes at the Estadio Ciudad de La Plata.

Boca start Martin Palermo equalized shortly after the break, but Estudiantes reacted almost immediately as Enzo Perez made it 2-1 three minutes later.

With 16 points from six games, Estudiantes have a two-points lead over second-placed Banfield. Boca have dropped to 13th place, at no less than 11 points from the leaders.
