Nigerian football federation (NFF) officials announced Thursday that the country’s crisis-hit Premier League will finally kick off on November 6.
Due to a loss of sponsors and a lingering dispute over the NPL leadership, the start of the league has been put off three times, the last postponement being called on October 23.
The NFF said the new season will begin with the match between hosts Kaduna United and Kano Pillars, while nine other matches will be played on Sunday, November 7.
Enyimba are the defending champions of the 20-club competition. The promoted clubs are Plateau United, JUTH FC, Crown Ogbomosho and Bukola Babes.
