“It’s tricky, I don’t know what to say,” Tuchel told L’Equipe. “I saw it on my colleagues’ smartphones because I did not hear them [the chants] during the match.
“Can I understand it? Yes and no. He’s still our player, my player, and I protect all my players. He’s in my dressing room. I can understand that not everyone has liked what he has said and done.”
Those are the words of Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel, who addressed the recent frustrations with fans in regards to Brazilian forward Neymar. The French champions began the defence of their championship crown in his absence at the weekend, and it was quite clear to see that the PSG fanbase wasn’t happy with the fact that he wasn’t there.
For now, it seems like this saga will continue to remain stagnant until closer towards the end of the summer transfer window in a few weeks time.
