Former Tunisia international defender Sami Trabelsi has been appointed national team coach – the country’s third boss in as many months.
Trabelsi replaces Ammar Souyah, who departed without taking charge of the team for a match after taking over from Faouzi Benzarti.
Souyah – who coached the team in the 2002 World Cup – returned to the job in January, but resigned after an uprising in the country caused the government to be overthrown.
Trabelsi, 43, led the country to success in the African Nations Championships in Sudan last month, and the country’s football federation announced his appointment on Friday.
His first task will be to try and secure qualification for the 2012 African Cup of Nations, with Tunisia sitting in second place in Group K – six points behind leaders Botswana.
