Turkey striker Nihat Kahveci who plays his club football with Villarreal says he’s dreaming of taking on Spain in the Euro 2008 final.

Before that eventuality can happen of course there’s the small matter of a quarter-final against Croatia in Vienna on Friday and then if that goes according to plan a semi-final against either Germany or Portugal.

Spain for their part must overcome world champions Italy in their last eight game on Sunday and then either the winner of Holland v Russia.

Kahveci, who will earn his 59th cap on Friday and has scored 72 goals for first Real Sociedad and then Villarreal, said: “I’ve played in Spain for the past six years and so I’d like to see Spain make it to the final…against Turkey.”

The 28-year-old has played a key role in getting Turkey to this Euro, scoring vital goals in the last two qualifiers, and an even bigger role once Turkey got to the finals, grabbing a late double to floor the Czech Republic to qualify for the last eight.
