Turkey 1/1 to beat Albania and over 1.5 goals in Friday’s EURO 2020 qualifier

Competition: EURO 2020 qualifying

Market: Turkey win and over 1.5 goals

Odds: 1/1 @ Bet 365

Looking to move one step closer to securing a route out of Group H, a high-flying Turkey will welcome Albania to Istanbul on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, shocking many across Europe with their stellar run to the top of Group H, the mood in Turkey’s camp continues to soar. Picking up a 4-0 win over Moldova last month, the Reds have won five of their six qualifying matchups, including a famous 2-0 win over reigning world champions France in Istanbul back in June. Now holding a six-point buffer over the chasing pack and sat in pole position to secure a spot at next year’s European Championships, it has been their form on home soil most impressing Head Coach Şenol Güneş. Friday’s hosts have won their last five matches on home soil and have not shipped a single goal since the 30th of May.

As for the visitors, while Albania may have picked up an impressive 4-2 win over Iceland to keep their qualifying hopes alive, it would take a minor miracle for them to clinch a route out of Group H. It will undoubtedly be their form on the road giving Head coach Christian Panucci the biggest headache. Suffering a 4-1 hammering away at Les Bleus in their last trip outside of Shkodër, the Eagles have lost four of their last five matches on foreign soil, a run that stems back to November 2017. With Albania handed a 2-0 defeat the last time the two sides met back in March, we’re backing a similar outcome on Friday.
