(GSM) – The three major Istanbul sides all won their Turkish league matches by two or more goals this Sunday as Fenerbahce, Besiktas and Galatasaray earned easy victories.
Fenerbahce bounced back from last week’s defeat at Tranzonspor with a 4-2 win over Manisaspor.
Alex scored the opening goal on 17 minutes but Isaac Promise leveled shortly after the break. In the final half hour however, the hosts dominated with one goal from Diego Lugano and two from Mamadou Niang. John Simpson got one back for Manisaspor later on but it was too little, too late.
Besiktas initially strugged at newcomers Karabükspor, who went ahead through Emmanuel Emenike in the second minute.
But Mert Nobre turns things around with goals in the 10th and 25th minutes, before Spaniard Guti converted a penalty in the 75th. Ricardo Quaresma netted the final goal nine minutes later, 1-4.
Milan Baros got things going for Galatasaray, scoring the opening goal at Eskisehirspor after just four minutes.
Luka Vucko equalized in the 37th but an own goal from Volkan Yaman restored Gala’s advantage eight minutes after the hour. Another few minutes later, Servet Cetin found the target for 1-3.
Bursaspor, who beat Sivasspor 0-2 on Saturday, remain in first place.
