Turkey: Fenerbahce cruise past Genclerbirligi

(GSM) – Fenerbahce move closer to the top of the Turkish Super Lig following a convincing 3-0 win over Genclerbirligi on Saturday.

Mamadou Niang put ‘Fener’ in the lead after 22 minutes, and Aykut Demit netted a second just three minutes later.

The third and final goal came in the dying minutes with Andre Santos hitting the target. At this point, Genclerbirligi were already a man down as Mile Jedinak conceced a second yellow card in the 67th minute.

Fenerbahce are currently in third place, a point behind Kayserispor who beat Manisaspor 0-2 with goals from Omer Sismanoglu and Andr Moritz.

Super Lig leaders Bursaspor will be given a chance to win their sixth match in a row, away to Istanbul BB on Sunday.
