(GSM) – Galatasaray moved four points clear at the top of the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday with a 4-1 thrashing of 10-man Kasimpasa. Elsewhere, Fenerbahçe dropped to five points off the pace with their 2-1 loss at Istanbul Buyuksehir.

Turkish sensation Arda Turan put Galatasaray in front on 29 minutes at the Ali Sami Yen Stadium, a lead they held until the 65th minute when Kasimpasa equalized through Yekta Kurtulus.

But the home side held firm and regained the lead 10 minutes later when Abdelkader Keita notched his second goal of the year.

It got better for Galatasaray in the 80th minute when Kasimpasa’s Koray Avci earned a straight red card, and it was 3-1 in short order as Brazilian striker Jô found the mark.

Keita bagged his second of the game in the 84th minute to seal the emphatic win.

Meanwhile, goals by Iskender Alin and Ibrahim Akin and a red card to Alex relegated Fenerbahçe to a 2-1 defeat at Istanbul Buyuksehir.

Alin opened the scoring on the half hour for Istanbul BB against their city rivals, much to the delight of the home supporters.

But the visitors struck back on 57 minutes when Alex equalized for Fenerbahçe, but he put his side at a disadvantage when referee Firat Aydinus issued a red card a quarter-hour from time.

Then, with seven minutes to play, Akin scored the winner to move the home side into eighth place.
