Twente agree to sign Serbian star

FC Twente have reached an agreement to sign Groningen winger Dusan Tadic, Voetbal International understands.

The Tukkers tried to sign the talented Serbian in January, but they couldn’t complete the transfer before the transfer window finished.

According to Voetbal International, the Dutch giants continued negotiations with Groningen and managed to agree a €7.7 million fee for the player.

All that’s left is for Tadic to agree personal terms with Twente, but that shouldn’t be a problem as the player is keen to join Steve McClaren’s team.

The Serbian international joined Groningen in a €1.1 million deal from Vojvodina in July 2010 and has since developed into one of the best Eredivisie midfielders.

The 23-year-old has been in scintillating form this season, scoring 3 goals and creating 10 assists in 24 Eredivisie games.

Tadic recently returned to Serbia national team following a three-year absence, as he featured in friendly games against Armenia and Cyprus.
