FC Twente will not be signing Inter Milan striker Luc Castaignos after talks with the 19-year-old have broken down, that’s according to Talk Sport.
Castaignos has been told that he is free to leave the Serie A side and there were plenty of teams interested in the youngster, but Twente seemed to be the likely destination for him.
The Dutch team were looking to make the forward their replacement for Luuk De Jong who left the club in this summer’s transfer window.
However, the asking price from Inter and what Twente were willing to pay seemed to be very different figures, meaning that the deal hit a massive stumbling block and now the team from Holland will have to look elsewhere.
This could be good news for a couple of English Premier League sides – Everton and West Ham as both are apparent admires of Castaignos.
The Dutch international made just six appearances in the Italian top flight last year, scoring just once.
He will know how important first team football is as he looks to develop his career and a move to England could see him get just that.
There is no doubt that the former Feyenoord man in an exciting talent that will be desperate to prove himself.
