UCL: Can Anyone Stop Real Madrid from Winning 15th European Title?

Last season, Real Madrid shocked the world by somehow, some way, capturing their 14th European Cup. They were able to beat some of Europe’s finest on their way to doing so and they did it in incredibly dramatic fashion, to the point where barely anyone was giving them a chance to win it all – even when we got to the final.

Alas, Carlo Ancelotti was able to mastermind a route to the trophy, and he’ll be hoping to do so again this season.

These four clubs, however, are the bookies’ favourites (via 888sport) to usurp the Spanish giants.

Manchester City – 5/2

If it wasn’t for them falling apart within a matter of minutes to close out the tie against Madrid, Manchester City may well have gone on to win the entire thing last season. Alas, that didn’t come to fruition, but even with that being the case it’d be foolish to rule out Pep Guardiola’s men given the strength they possess.

Liverpool – 9/2

Liverpool fans were feeling pretty confident that they’d get revenge on Real Madrid in Paris a few months back, but football doesn’t always work in the way you think it will. Still, even though the Reds couldn’t get anything going, this is still a competition they thrive in every year – and they’ll continue to do so.

PSG – 6/1

Paris Saint-Germain are throwing as much money against the wall as they possibly can in the hope that they can, well, capture the European Cup for the first time, we imagine. The kings of French football haven’t been able to quite make that step up and even though domestic football is important, it pales in comparison to what they could do for their legacy with the big one.

Bayern Munich – 6/1

Bayern Munich have been slowly but surely adding new forces to their ranks and even though they’ve lost their talisman, we still expect them to be steady and firm enough to go deep into the competition this season. The Germans don’t know how to quit and unless they self-implode, they should be there or thereabouts come April and May.
