Serie A giants Udinese are believed to be on the verge of recruiting Greek midfielder Panagiotis Kone from Bologna, La Gazzetta dello Sport has revealed.
The two clubs are currently in advanced talks that should see the Greece international move to Friuli in the coming days.
As part of the deal, talented forward Nico Lopez should move to Bologna on a season-long loan.
Panagiotis Kone has established himself as one of league’s top attacking midfielder during his time at Renato Dall’Ara and he has scored a total of 12 goals in 90 Serie A appearances for Felsinei.
But, with Bologna surprisingly getting relegated to Serie B, he was widely tipped to leave the club for greener pastures.
Some very good performances for Greece at the 2014 World Cup seems to have helped Kone earn a summer switch to Udinese.
Despite making just two appearances in the qualifying campaign, Kone started all three matches for Ethniki at the tournament finals before picking up an injury.
