Udinese linked with Diamanti move

Udinese are set to make a move for Guangzhou Evergrande midfielder Alessandro Diamanti, according to the Talksport.

The Italy international is currently on loan at Watford, though he has made just three appearances for the club so far, all of which have come as a substitute.

The thirty-two year old moved to China in February 2014, and spent the second half of last season on loan in a second stint at Serie A side Fiorentina, now Udinese could be set to offer him the chance to return to his home country.

Aside from a year in England with West Ham United, Dimanti spent his entire career until 2014 in Italy across spells with Prato, Empoli, Fiorentina, AlbinoLeffe, Livorno, Brescia and Bologna.

He has been capped seventeen times for his country and was part of the Italy squad that went to the 2012 European Championships in Poland and Ukraine, while his one and only international goal came against Uruguay in the 2013 Confederations Cup.
