Udinese president reveals Napoli bid for Sanchez

Udinese president Giampaolo Pozzo has revealed that Napoli have made an official bid for forward Alexis Sanchez.

The Chile international was thought to be on the verge of completing a move to Barcelona, but Pozzo says that Napoli are also in the race.

“Sanchez playing for Napoli? Nothing is impossible,” Pozzo told Radio Kiss Kiss.

“Aurelio De Laurentiis wants to do things on a grand scale, seeing as he presented an interesting economic offer for Sanchez.

“It’s a complicated operation and we await the end of the Copa America to work out who are the real contenders. The player’s intentions will be decisive, as these deals need all three parties to agree.”

Before Napoli presented Udinese with an official bid, Sanchez had expressed his desire to join Barcelona, but this sheds a new light on the case.

Pozzo also revealed that Gokhan Inler’s proposed move to Napoli could fall through.

The two clubs have agreed a transfer fee few weeks ago, but the player is unable to agree personal terms with the Partenopei.

“We’re running out of time,” added Pozzo. “If on Monday Inler hasn’t completed the transfer, then he’ll join us for pre-season training.

“In my view, the player will stay with us. I don’t think the lad is asking for the moon. Napoli need to push a little bit.”
