Udinese sign German Denis; Nelson Valdez moves to Hercules

German Denis signs for Udinese

Udinese have signed Napoli striker German Denis on a co-ownership deal after the Argentine agreed personal terms with the Friuli outfit.

The two clubs have reached an agreement a while back but the transfer was in jeopardy after the Argentine couldn’t agree personal terms with the new club.

Nevertheless, Napoli have confirmed the deal on their official website.

“The Argentine striker has been sold to the Friuli club with a co-ownership agreement.”

Denis arrived to Sao Paolo as one of the most prolific strikers in Argentina but he never quite managed to fulfill his potential and this move doesn’t come as a surprise to anyone.

He will get a fresh chance at Udinese and maybe a change of scenery will help his rediscover his scoring form.

Hercules snatch Nelson Valdez

Paraguayan striker Nelson Haedo Valdez has confirmed that he had signed a contract with La Liga side Hercules.

Hercules are set to pay Borussia 4 million euros for the Paraguayan hitman, who has signed a three-year contract with the Alicante club.

“Ten minutes ago I have signed the contract and now I am up for La Liga,” said Valdez yesterday.

Valdez have thus become Hercules’ sixth signing of the transfer window, with the newly-promoted side clearly set their minds to ensuring their top flight status.

During the past few years, Valdez was an integral part of both Borussia Dortmund and Paraguay national team, thus his experience and goal poaching skills would prove to be a major asset for the side fighting for survival in La Liga.

Lazio refuse to sell Ledesma

Despite interest from Inter, Juventus and Fiorentina for Cristian Ledesma, Lazio have announced the midfielder will remain at the club.

Ledesma’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season and Lazio could lose him for free but they are still hoping the Argentine will extend his contract with the club.

“I really doubt that Ledesma will leave Lazio,” director of sport Ighli Tare said.

“Our intent is to keep hold of him. I understand there are teams interested in him, as he has a truly exceptional vision.

“However, Ledesma is perfect for our style of football and I don’t see why we ought to sell, especially to a direct rival for places in Europe like Fiorentina.”

It seems Lazio are unwilling to sell their prized asset to one of their rivals but should the right offer come from abroad, they would probably jump at the chance to cash in on Ledesma.
