Watch the penultimate round of European Championship qualifying fixtures take place over the next fortnight, Group E certainly looks like it will be going right down to the wire.

With four separate countries still dreaming of the chance to book their ticket to Germany for next year, Group E also offers a string of European Championship betting markets that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Ahead of what appears to be another defining fortnight of action from across Group E, we have taken a look at how things could unfold and some of the most interesting EURO 24 betting markets that are available over the next couple of weeks.

Who is leading the chase in Group E?

While Portugal might have opened up this year’s European Championship adventure tipped as a leading contender to claim top spot in Group E, it is Albania who have continued to upset the apple cart.

With the Eagles continuing to skyrocket their way up the FIFA rankings, Sylvinho’s side find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high and they now have their sights firmly set on clinching just a second appearance at a major international tournament.

However, opening up this month’s Group E showdowns holding a two-point buffer over both Moldova and the Czech Republic, the one-time Lyon boss finds his high-flying squad priced as high as 23/10 with 1xBet to spring a major qualifying upset and wrap up top spot in Group E.

The Group A Player to Keep an Eye on

With it appearing that Group E could go in any direction over the next month, we have taken a look at a pair of European-based superstars who will be looking to lay down a potential marker.

Robert Lewandowski – Poland & Barcelona

With Poland enduring a major qualifying rut this year and potentially facing an uphill battle to find a route out of Group E, there is no doubt that Michal Probierz’s side will be calling on their attacking icon to drag them over the finish line.

Only continuing on his record-breaking romp since arriving at Spanish giants Barcelona last year, Robert Lewandowski will be more than aware that he has a crucial role to play over the next fortnight.

Lifting the La Liga Golden Boot last season and already notching eight strikes from his previous 10 appearances for club and country, Poland’s talisman has bagged three Group E showdowns this year.

Tomas Soucek – Czech Republic & West Ham

While the Czech Republic might mark their return to qualifying duties this week with just their goal difference keeping them ahead of surprise package Moldova, many feel that Jaroslav Silhavy’s side are a leading contender to find a route out of Group E.

Looking to clinch back-to-back spots on the major tournament stage, it will be the red-hot Tomas Soucek who has a crucial role to play over the next fortnight.

Enjoying what has been a hugely successful start to the 2023/24 campaign with Premier League outfit West Ham, Soucek has notched four goals in his last six appearances across all competitions.

Group E Match of the Week & Available Odds

With Albania marking their return this week holding a two-point buffer at the top of the Group E table, all eyes will certainly fall on Tirana for what promises to be a defining qualifying showdown.

Signing off September’s international break with a stunning 2-0 victory at home against Poland, the Eagles have mustered 10 points from their last four Group E appearances and they will be desperate to make another heavyweight statement on home soil.

Nevertheless, despite snatching an eye-catching 1-1 stalemate when they last met the Czech Republic in Prague on September 7th, Albania will know that they face a stern examination in midweek.

With Silhavy’s side still holding a game in hand over the rest of their Group E rivals, it is worth noting that the Reds are unbeaten in each of their previous six appearances across all formats since opening up 2023.

Albania vs Czech Republic Best Betting Tip

Putting in a rugged performance on foreign soil last month as they salvaged a 1-1 draw away in Prague, Albania will be desperate for a repeat performance in midweek.

With the Czech Republic still seen as a standout contender to claim top spot in Group E and priced at 4/5 with Dachbet to come out top of the pile later in the year, Silhavy’s camp will have plenty of pressure on their shoulders over the next fortnight.

However, although the midweek guests might have continued to shine since opening up 2023, Albania have proven that they can be a stern test for anyone across Group E.

In what looks set to be a defining showdown at the top of Group E, neutrals could be treated to an enjoyable affair from Tirana.
