With the European Championship qualifiers getting back underway on Thursday, Group G has quickly become a three-way shootout.

With just a single point separating the three nations that are all dreaming of the chance to punch an automatic tip to Germany, there are plenty of intriguing EURO 24 betting markets that are available from across Group G.

In what looks set to be a defining fortnight of action in the race to clinch a famous top-two finish in Group G, we have taken a look at how things could unfold over the next couple of weeks and some of the most eye-catching European Championship betting tips.

Who is leading the chase in Group G?

While Serbia might have opened this year’s European Championship qualifying adventure tipped as a leading contender to claim top spot in Group G, the Eagles find themselves at the heart of an almighty scrap with a high-flying Hungary.

Watching both camps mark their return to Group G duties in midweek with just their goal difference separating them at the top of the table, there is no doubt that Hungary have continued to stake a real claim this time around.

With the Tricolours continuing to skyrocket their way up the FIFA standings, they are certainly riding what has been a remarkable wave of momentum and Hungary currently sit pencilled in at 4/6 with Olympusbet to hold off Serbia’s late charge and punch their EURO 24 ticket as Group G winners.

The Group G Players to Keep an Eye on

Watching Group G produce an abundance of goals since getting underway earlier in the year, we have taken a glance at a pair of red-hot attacking stars that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Barnabas Varga – Hungary & Ferencvaros

With Hungary continuing to gain a reputation for their clinical performances in the final third since opening up their Group G adventure earlier in the year, the red-hot Barnabas has certainly played a leading role.

Finding the net for the Tricolours as they claimed a stunning 2-1 win away at Serbia last month and already notching a pair of Group G strikes, the 28-year-old is also in the midst of a major domestic flurry.

Plying his trade with Hungarian-based giants Ferencvaros and rumoured to be attracting some European interest, Varga has remarkably notched a staggering 20 goals in his previous 22 appearances for club and country across all competitions.

Aleksandar Mitrovic – Serbia & Al-Hilal

If Serbia are to mount a late charge and dethrone the high-flying Hungary, then it is almost certain that attacking talisman Aleksander Mitrovic has a crucial role to play over the next fortnight.

While the 29-year-old might have come under plenty of scrutiny over the summer as he completed a blockbuster move to Saudi Arabia, Mitrovic has only continued on a real free-scoring romp since arriving in the Middle East.

In fact, along with mustering three Group G strikes in just his four qualifying appearances this year, the former Fulham star has also bagged 10 goals in just his previous 11 showdowns for club and country – a run that has also seen him notch two separate hat-tricks.

Group G Match of the Week & Available Odds

While third-place Montenegro might still be dreaming of the chance to spring a major Group G upset over the final to qualifying sessions, there is no doubt that all of the attention will fall on Budapest this week.

With both Hungary and Serbia only separated at the top of the Group G standings by their goal difference, Saturday’s heavyweight showdown could prove to be the deciding factor in who comes out on top this year.

Although it might be Serbia who were installed as the pre-qualifying favourites in Group G, they will certainly be concerned by their most recent meeting against a high-flying Hungary.

Watching the Tricolours lay down a major marker last month as they claimed a remarkable 2-1 victory in Belgrade, it is also worth highlighting that Hungary have lost just one of their previous 12 European Championship qualifying contests in front of their own supporters – a run that stems back to September 2014.

Moving themselves into pole position after landing that stellar 2-1 victory away in Belgrade on September 7th, Hungary will be desperate to produce a repeat performance on Saturday night.

Knowing that a fifth consecutive qualifying win on home soil could almost guarantee their spot as Group G champions, Hungary will know that their fate still sits firmly in their own hands over the final two qualifying sessions.

However, while Serbia might be priced at 5/4 with 1xBet to mount a late charge at leapfrog their bitter group G rivals, the Eagles have proven that they can be a stern test for anyone across Europe.

With it all to play for at the top of the Group G standings this weekend, we could be treated to another thrilling affair.
