With the penultimate round of European Championship qualifiers getting back underway this week, Group I’s leading contenders will be looking to officially book their spot to Germany.

In what appears to be a two-horse race to clinch top spot in Group I, there are also a host of European Championship betting markets that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Ahead of what looks set to be a defining fortnight of action from Group I, we have taken an in-depth look at what could unfold and some of the most intriguing EURO 24 betting tips that are available this month.

Who is leading the chase in Group I?

While Switzerland might have watched their World Cup adventure come to an abrupt end out in Qatar over the winter as they slumped to an infamous 6-1 drumming at the hands of Portugal, the Reds certainly haven’t shown any signs of a hangover.

Signing off September’s qualifying break with a routine 3-0 romp against Andorra, Murat Yakin’s side are yet to suffer a single defeat from any of their five Group I appearances so far this year.

Marking their return to EURO 24 qualifying duties this week holding a two-point buffer over the chasing pack, Switzerland currently find themselves priced at 2/9 with BetUS to hold off a late charge from Romania and punch their ticket to Germany as Group I winners.

The Group I Players to Keep an Eye on

In what could be a definitive fortnight of action from Group I, we have taken a glance at a pair of European-based superstars who will be looking to lay down another qualifying statement.

Zeki Amdouni – Switzerland & Burnley

With Switzerland looking to officially secure their spot as Group I winners over the next fortnight, the Rossocrociati will be calling on their new attacking talisman to spearhead their qualifying charge.

Completing a move to Premier League outfit Burnley this summer after finishing as the Europa Conference League top scorer last season, the 22-year-old has also continued to shine while in Group I action.

In fact, Amdouni has notched a stellar five European Championship qualifying strikes in just his first six Group I appearances, only three players during this year’s EURO 24 qualifying can boast a better return.

Dennis Man – Romania & Parma

If Romania are to officially punch their return to the major tournament stage this month, the Tricolours could be calling on Parma starlet Dennis Man to lead their Group I charge over the next fortnight.

Now entering his fourth successive campaign with Italian-based outfit Parma, the 25-year-old has become a key part of Romania’s Group I charge throughout this year.

Along with notching his first European Championship qualifying strike as Romania opened their Group I adventure with a 2-0 win away at Andorra on March 25th, Man has also notched a pair of Serie B goals since getting the 2023/24 campaign underway.

Group I Match of the Week & Available Odds

With Belarus and Romania firmly battling it out at opposite ends of the Group I standings, the Tricolours will be smelling the chance to make what could be a defining statement this week.

Watching Romania only continue on an historic EURO 24 qualifying romp throughout this year, Edward Iordanescu’s men will be excited by their most recent meeting against their Group I rivals.

Putting in an action-packed performance back on March 28th when they welcomed Belarus to Bucharest, the Yellows will be desperate to put in a repeat display this week.

Watching the Group I strugglers put just four points on the board from any of their six qualifying showdowns this year, it is also worth highlighting that the midweek hosts have won just a pair of their previous 13 European Championship battles in front of their own supporters.

Knowing that they can wrap up their major tournament return this month, Romania could even be smelling the chance to mount a late charge for top spot in Group I.

With the Tricolours pencilled in at 2/5 with Vegas Land to secure a top-two finish in Group I this year, Iordanescu’s high-flying squad should be smelling a golden chance on Thursday night.

Still yet to suffer a single defeat from any of their six EURO 24 qualifying appearances and landing that 2-1 win when they welcomed Belarus to Bucharest back in March, Romania will mark their Group I return with the mood in their camp at a real high.
