(GSM) – BATE earned a narrow win at Sheriff in Thursday’s Europa League action to stay in first place in Group E, while Dynamo Kyiv moved to second place after a 1-2 win at AZ.
After beating AZ in their previous game, Belarussian outfit BATE Borisov added another three points at Moldova’s Sheriff.
The only goal of the match came after just nine minutes and was scored by Sergey Sosnovski.
Dynamo Kyiv meanwhile, were looking for their first win at Dutch outfit AZ and got exactly that.
Artem Milevskiy scored the opening goal after 16 minutes and although his goal was canceled out by Erik Falkenburg in the 35th, the Ukranians would get the three points as Evgen Khacheridi restored his side’s lead four minutes after the equaliser.
AZ’s Nikolas Moisander conceded a second yellow card late on and will be suspended for the next match, away to Dynamo.
BATE continue to lead Group E with seven points from three games. Dynamo follow with four points and Sheriff and AZ have three points each. Of those two, Sheriff have the better goal record.
