(GSM) – CSKA Moskva earned a convincing 0-3 win at Palermo to remain on top of Europa League Group F, while Sparta Praha and Lausanne Sports held each other to a spectacular 3-3 draw.
Russian side CSKA went into Thursday’s match having won the previous two, and it soon became clear that Palermo was no match for the Muscovites either.
Seydou Doumbia put the Russians in the lead after 34 minutes and went on to score a second just before the hour mark. Tomas Necid added a third in the 82nd minute, 0-3.
At this point, the Sicilian hosts were already down a player as Javier Pastore received a second yellow card in the 75th minute.
Sparta Praha hosted Swiss side Lausanne Sports in the Czech capital city, where the visiting side drew first blood through Sebastian Meoli in the sixth minute.
Sparta soon turned things around through Wilfried Bony (10th) and Juraj Kucka (21st), and when Bony netted a third in the 23rd minute it looked like the Czechs were headed for an easy win.
The Swiss did not give up however and gave themselves renewed motivation when Martin Steuble pulled one back in the 75th minute. In the dying seconds, Silvio found the equaliser, 3-3.
With their perfect record of nine points from three games, CSKA top Group F ahead of Sparta with four points. Palermo are now third with three points and Lausanne remain in fourth with one point.
