(GSM) – Atletico Madrid finally got their first win in the Europa League group phase, beating Rosenborg 3-0 while Bayer Leverkusen were held to a goalless draw at Aris.
Spanish outfit Atletico desperately needed a win after earning only one point from their previous two games.
Diego Godin handed the home side the lead after 17 minute at Vicente Calderon stadium, and ‘Kun’ Aguëro doubled that advantage six minutes after the hour. Diego Costa netted the third in the 78th minute.
Bayer Leverkusen traveled to Greece to face Aris, where the Germans were held to a goalless draw.
Bayer do remain in first place in Group B with five points from three games, and Atletico are now in second place with four points.
Aris have the same amount, but their goal record leaves the Greeks in third place. Rosenborg are in fourth place with three points.
