The Ligue 1 match between Bastia and Lyon was abandoned after home supporters invaded the pitch and attacked the visiting players on two separate occasions.
With kickoff being delayed almost a full hour after a couple of players attacked Lyon players during warm-up, incidents escalated when players attempted to leave the pitch at half-time which effectively meant the game was abandoned.
Lyon players were reluctant to play the game in the first place following initial incidents which involved goalkeeper Mathieu Gorgelin and Memphis Depay. Former Manchester United forward stood up to Bastia supporters which seemed to have aggravated them even more.
