Ujah agrees Werder Bremen switch

Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen have agreed a deal to sign Nigerian striker Anthony Ujah from FC Koln, the Billy Goats have announced.

The 24-year-old, who had another two years left on his deal with FC Koln will be joining the Weserstadion outfit on a long-term deal in the summer after the two sides reached an agreement over the transfer fee.

Werder appear to be preparing for life without star striker Franco Di Santo, and after their former player Claudio Pizarro ruled out a summer return, they did well to wrap up the transfer of Anthony Ujah.

The 24-year-old joined FC Koln from Mainz initially on a loan deal before making a permanent transfer, and he has scored a total of 34 goals in 92 league appearances for the club.

After impressing for the Billy Goats in the second division, Ujah continued the rich vein of form in the top flight, netting 10 times in 30 Bundesliga outings this season.
