According to a recent report from Sport, Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti has made it clear that he does not want to leave the Nou Camp this summer and that he will fight to keep his place at the club.
Once upon a time it seemed as if Umtiti could do no wrong with the Spanish giants, but at this stage, the attention has most certainly turned towards the future – and Umtiti may not be a part of that.
At the age of just 26 he still has many years left at the top level, but with Barca failing to live up to expectations this season, there’s a lot of finger pointing going on in Catalonia. Even though Umtiti hasn’t been a first choice member of the squad as of late, there are still plenty of figures within the club that don’t feel like he is a valid long term option at the back.
