Lyon hotshot Samuel Umtiti is unlikely to be moving clubs at the end of the current campaign, according to his official representative.
The 22-year-old has impressed playing for les Gones over the last couple of years, and top European clubs have started casting admiring glances his way.
Spanish giants Barcelona are reportedly hot on his trail and could step up their interest ahead of the summer transfer window.
However, Umtiti appears to have decided to remain at Lyon for the foreseeable future as he believes that regular playing time in Ligue 1 and the Champions League will improve his chances of breaking into the France national team.
The 22-year-old’s brother and agent Yannick Umtiti has moved to reveal the player’s short-term plans.
“Samuel does not have a strong desire to leave the club,” he said to Eurosport. “He operates in favourable conditions with regards to playing time, a staff that trusts him and a president who love him.
”Samuel has high goals for the club and wants to be integrated into the France national team.”
Despite his fragile age, Umtiti already has 128 Ligue 1 appearances to his name, but he has yet to be handed his Les Bleus debut.
