According to a recent report from Marca, Gareth Bale’s status as a Real Madrid player is currently in limbo ahead of the summer transfer window. Zidane isn’t believed to be a major fan of the Welshman, despite the fact that Bale has been involved in some of the club’s biggest moments and goals over the last few years. The report suggests that they want to offload him prior to the pre-season tour of the United States, which will take place in July. However, they are unable to find teams that are willing to meet his wage demands – which are said to be in excess of £14.5 million per year. Manchester United’s failure to qualify for the Champions League is said to rule them out, whereas Tottenham aren’t interested in paying the required rate.
Bayern Munich could be a contender as a natural replacement for someone like Robben, but despite the recent links, there isn’t said to be all too much interest on their side.
