Under 2.5 goals at Charlton vs Swansea 10/11 for Wednesday’s Championship clash

Competition: Championship

Market: Under 2.5 goals

Odds: 10/11 @ Bet 365

Two sides handed the chance to potentially climb to the top of the table, Swansea will travel to the Valley on Wednesday night.

Starting with the hosts, while back-to-back defeats earlier in the month may have dampened the mood around the Valley, Charlton certainly bounced back over the weekend. Picking up a 1-0 win at home to Championship favorites Leeds on Saturday, Lee Bowyer’s men have a surprise play-off charge in their sights. While the mood in the capital might be on the rise, the Addicks do have a growing reputation for their low-scoring encounters. Scoring just one goal in their last three appearances, Charlton have seen their last six consecutive matches end with under 2.5 goals.

As for the visitors, despite climbing to top spot after a stellar start to the new campaign, Swansea are in the midst of a minor rut. Throwing away a 90th-minute goal and having to settle for a point against Reading over the weekend, the Welsh outfit have failed to win any of their last three Championship appearances and have seen West Brom leapfrog them in the standings. Also now scoring just a single goal in any of their last three league outings, Wednesday could prove to be another cagey encounter at the Valley. With each of the last nine combined matches seeing under 2.5 goals, we’re backing a similar outcome in midweek.
