Under 2.5 goals at Derby vs Cardiff 1/1 for Friday’s Championship matchup

Competition: Championship

Market: Under 2.5 goals

Odds: 1/1 @ Bet 365

Two sides who are desperate to kick-start their Championship campaign, a struggling Derby will welcome Cardiff to Pride Park on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, suffering a 3-0 hammering against Brentford prior to the international break, Derby are still drastically struggling to adjust to life under new boss Phillip Cocu. Now suffering back-to-back defeat and also crashing out of the League Cup at the hands of Nottingham Forest last month, last year’s play-off finalists have failed to win any of their last six outings and have just one second-tier victory to their name. It will undoubtedly be their form in the final third giving the former PSV boss the biggest headache. Derby have now failed to find the net in back-to-back outings and have scored just a pair of goals in their last five matches at Pride Park.

As for the visitors, much like Friday’s hosts, Cardiff are also struggling to adjust to life back in the second-tier. Despite managing to keep hold of Neil Warnock following their relegation from the Premier League, the Bluebirds have failed to win any of their last three appearances. Also crashing out of the League Cup thanks to a 3-0 hammering against Luton last month, the former QPR boss will have his own concerns over his sides form in the final third. Cardiff have recorded just a single goal in over 300 minutes of action. With both sides very publically struggling in attack, we’re backing another cagey encounter on Friday.
