Enduring their worst run of the season, playoff strugglers Derby will welcome Wigan to Pride Park on Tuesday night.
Starting with Frank Lampard’s side, coming off the back of a 4-0 hammering away at Villa Park over the weekend, the former England midfielder finds himself under his first piece of pressure. With the Rams now losing their last four outings on the bounce, Tuesday’s hosts have recorded just a single Championship victory since the middle of January. Now sat outside of the playoff positions, it will be their form in the final third most concerning fans around Pride Park. Despite a list of attacking options, Lampard’s side have now failed to find the net in over 300 minutes of action.
As for the visitors, remarkably drawing their last four matches on the bounce, Wigan have certainly shown some signs of improvements in the second half of the season. Despite holding just a three-point buffer over the drop zone and still looking over their shoulder, Paul Cook’s side are yet to be beaten since the 26th of January. While Wigan have conceded just a single goal in their last three outings, they too have suffered with some shyness in the final third. The Latics have also scored just one goal in over 300 minutes of play and Tuesday could prove to be another cagey affair.
Bet: Under 2.5 goals at Derby vs Wigan 4/5 for Tuesday’s Championship clash @ Bet 365
