Competition: Irish Premier Division
Market: Under 2.5 goals
Odds: 4/6 @ Bet 365
In what appears to be an incredibly cagey encounter on Friday night, Derry City will welcome Cork City to Londonderry.
Starting with the hosts, once again showing a lack of creative spark in the final third, Derry could only play out a stalemate at home to Bohemians last weekend. Also crashing out of the FAI Cup and the League Cup at the hands of Dundalk over the past month, the mood around Londonderry remains at a low. Looking for their first victory across any competition since the start of August, it will undoubtedly be their attacking issues giving Head Coach Declan Devine the biggest headache. Friday’s hosts have managed to bag just a single goal in their last three top-flight appearances.
As for the visitors, much like Derry, Cork find themselves in an almost identical position. Playing out their own lackluster 0-0 draw against Finn Harps last time out, Neale Fenn’s men are without a win in any of their last five appearances, a run that has also seen them lose four of those contests. Destined for a bottom half finish Head Coach Neale Fenn will also be calling on some drastic improvements in the final third. Failing to find the net in back-to-back outings, Tuesday’s matchup in Londonderry has all the makings of a contest that could see chances come at a premium.
Bet: Under 2.5 goals at Derry City vs Cork City 4/6 for Friday’s Irish Premier Division contest @ Bet 365
