Two sides enduring a very different run of form at the back end of the season, Doncaster will host a resurgent Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night.

Starting with Doncaster, now sat outside of the playoff positions and coming off the back of a 4-0 hammering away at Luton last weekend, Tuesday’s hosts have been drastically short on confidence and form in 2019. With Grant McCann watching his side endure an eight-match winless run that stems all the way back to the start of January, their form in the final third will be a growing concern for fans around the Keepmoat Stadium. With leading goalscorer Josh Marquis now failing to find the net in his last seven appearances, Doncaster have scored just a single goal in over 400 minutes of action.

As for Bristol Rovers, while Doncaster might be enduring a sluggish run of form, the same can not be said for Tuesday’s visitors. Picking up a 2-2 draw away at Plymouth over the weekend, Graham Coughlan’s side are enjoying a four-match unbeaten run and another victory in midweek would see them break into the top-half of the table. One of the key areas in Rovers’ revival has been their newfound defensive stability. Holding the fourth best defensive record in League One, Coughlan’s side have now recorded three clean sheets in their last four outings. More impressive, Rovers are unbeaten in their last nine matches on the road, a run that stems all the way back to December.
