With all eyes turning to Wembley on Wednesday night, England and Denmark will meet with a spot in the final of this year’s delayed European Championships up for grabs.
Starting with the hosts, managing to blow Ukraine away as they made the trip out to Rome on Saturday night, there is no doubt that the mood in England’s camp will be at a red-hot high. While The Three Lions might have come under some scrutiny for their three Group D contests last month, Gareth Southgate’s men have managed to find their feet at the perfect time. Still boosted by that famous 2-0 win against arch-rivals Germany at Wembley last week, England have also gained a fearsome reputation for their continued performances at the back. With Ukraine failing to lay a glove on them at the Stadio Olimpico over the weekend, The Whites are yet to concede a single goal so far this summer and they’re the only nation who can boast that record. More impressive, including their back-to-back 1-0 pre-tournament friendly victories against Austria and Bulgaria, Wednesday’s hosts have gone over 650 minutes without picking the ball out of their own net.
As for the visitors, suffering those heartbreaking scenes with Christian Eriksen in their Group B opener last month, Denmark have only continued to rally in nothing short than an inspirational fashion. Despite opening this summer’s delayed European Championships with back-to-back defeats against Finland and Belgium, The Reds now find themselves enjoying what has been a record-breaking storm on the major tournament stage. With their fairytale story only progressing and coming past the Czech Republic over the weekend, Kasper Hjulmand’s men will make the trip to Wembley in midweek looking to cause what would be another upset on foreign soil. Making the trip to the English capital back in October while on Nations League duties, Denmark landed a 1-0 victory and they have mustered four points in their last two meetings against The Three Lions. Keeping a clean sheet in both of those contests, we’re backing under 2.5 goals here.
Bet: Under 2.5 goals at England vs Denmark 2/3 for Wednesday’s European Championships semi-final @ 888sport
