Market: Under 2.5 goals

With a spot in the second round of this year’s FA Cup up for grabs, Lincoln will welcome fellow League One outfit Ipswich to Sincil Bank on Wednesday night.

Starting with the hosts, suffering a 1-0 loss away at Gillingham over the weekend, Lincoln are a side still drastically struggling to adjust to life under new boss Michael Appleton. Recording just a single victory since the 5th of October, the Imps still remain in a battle in the bottom half of the League One standings and they also have a growing reputation for some toothless displays in the final third. Despite picking up a 3-0 win over a heavily altered Rotherham in the EFL Trophy last week, Lincoln have not scored more than a single strike in any of their other six matches across all competitions.

As for the visitors, while Ipswich might still find themselves sat in the automatic positions and with their sights set on landing a Championship return next year, Paul Lambert’s side are enduring an extended blip. Suffering a 1-0 loss away at League Two’s Colchester in the EFL Trophy last week, the one-time Norwich boss has seen his men win just a pair of their last six appearances. Recording a pair of strikes in just one of those six matchups, it should also be noted that just two of the last 15 combined matches between Ipswich and Lincoln have seen over 2.5 strikes at full time.
