Competition: Ligue 1
Market: Under 2.5 goals
Odds: 4/5 @ Bet 365
Two sides who have been drastically short of form entering 2019, Nimes will welcome Angers to the Stade des Costières on Wednesday evening.
Starting with the hosts, coming off the back of a 1-0 loss at home to Toulouse and now losing five of their last six matches across all competitions, Nimes have begun freefalling down the Ligue 1 table. Along with crashing out of the Coupe de la Ligue at the hands of lower league Le Harve earlier in the month, it will be their form in the final third giving Bernard Blaquart the biggest headache. Remarkably now scoring just one goal since the start of the New Year, that strike against Nantes last week has been the only time they have found the net in a run that stems way back to the 16th of December.
As for the visitors, in almost identical fashion to Wednesday’s hosts, Stéphane Moulin’s side have also struggled with their consistency entering 2019. Also suffering a very shock defeat to lower league Viry Chatillon and crashing out of the Coupe de France, Les Scoïstes have recorded just a single win in their last seven appearances, a run that stems back to the middle of November. Along with now failing to win any of their last seven matches away from the Stade Raymond-Kopa, they have failed to record a single goal in over 300 minutes of football on the road.
Bet: Under 2.5 goals at Nimes vs Angers 4/5 for Wednesday’s Ligue 1 matchup @ Bet 365
