Two of European football’s powerhouses, Lyon will look to win their second consecutive Champions League title when they face Wolfsburg on Thursday evening.

For Stephan Lerch’s Wolfsburg side, after wrapping up their second domestic league title on the bounce, Die Wölfinnen will travel to Kiev boasting a stellar recent record. Coming off the back of their penalty victory over Frauen-Bundesliga runners-up Bayern Munich, Wolfsburg now hold the second best defensive record in Europe and are now on a 10 match winning run and have also managed to keep a clean sheet in nine of those victories. Along with impressing in defense, Wolfsburg will look to Pernille Harder to lead them to the Champions League title. The forward now has seven goals in Europe this year.

As for Lyon, after confirming their fourth French league title on the bounce, the defending Champions League winners are arguably one of the greatest womens sides in history. Coming off the back of a 0-0 draw with PSG, The Whites are now on a 40 match unbeaten run, a record that goes all the way back to April 2017. Only conceding five goals in their 21 French matches, Lyon now hold the best defensive record in Europe. Along with their defensive tally, the French side have scored 98 goals this year and are averaging nearly five goals per game. Their success in the final third has come down to forward Ada Hegerberg, the Lyon star has 14 Champions League goals and has now won the golden boot in two of her last three campaigns.
