Desperate to make a return to winning ways this weekend, RB Leipzig will be hoping to extend their stay in the top-four when they travel to Mainz on Sunday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, coming from 2-0 down to snatch a point away at Koln on their return to action last weekend, Mainz simply have their sights set on extending their Bundesliga status this season. Opening Sunday’s contest holding a four-point buffer from slipping into the relegation play-off spot, there is no doubt that Head Coach Achim Beierlorzer will be calling on his side to find some much-needed success on home soil. With their fading title ambitions taking what should be a final hit on their return last week, the Champions League outfit now hold just a one-point buffer from slipping out of the top-four. Picking up just a pair of Bundesliga victories in their last eight attempts, the Whites have also shown some recent issues on the road. Drawing a blank in three of their last four contests away from the Red Bull Stadium, Julian Nagelsmann’s side have landed just a sole domestic away win since the middle of December. With leading marksman Timo Werner now in the midst of his worst attacking rut of the season so far, we’re expecting what could be another cagey encounter at the Opel Arena this weekend.
