Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign Harry Maguire from Leicester City, according to Miguel Delaney of the Independent, who also claims his sources have informed him that the move is now imminent.
Maguire informed his club about his wish to leave the King Power Stadium last week, and the Foxes took the position of not standing in his way – providing their price is met. Manager Brendan Rodgers revealed recently that no such offer had been received, but that appears to have changed now.
Apparently, Leicester have demanded a fee of £80 million for the centre-back, and United have now made an offer which the 2015/16 Premier League winners deem acceptable, with £70 million guaranteed and £10 million believed to be in reasonably plausible add-ons.
United see the England international as the right man to play alongside Victor Lindelof in the heart of defence that they believe will provide a good foundation for a fast, “hard-pressing” team.
