United and Liverpool considering James

Manchester United and Liverpool are both interested in signing James Rodriguez this summer, according to the Mirror.

The Colombian is currently at Bayern Munich on loan from Real Madrid, approaching the end of the two-year temporary switch. He is due to return to the Bernabeu, and even though he recently said he would like to go back, the arrival of Zinedine Zidane, the man under whom he had lost his place in the team and who sent him on loan, back to the dugout may make him reconsider his position.

Bayern have the option of turning the deal permanent for €42 million, but should they decide against it, Real will likely look to sell to another buyer for much more than that.

Liverpool have had a close look at the 27-year-old attacking midfielder as they knocked Bayern out of the Champions League this week, and having given up on Nabil Fekir of Lyon who was close to an Anfield switch last summer, they might see James as a good alternative.

Meanwhile, United seem like they’ve given up on Alexis Sanchez, and that’s also a role Rodriguez could be looking to fill.
