United back in for Garay

Manchester United are set to move for Ezequiel Garay when the transfer window reopens in January, according to the Express.

Manager Louis van Gaal is an admirer of the centre-back, who has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford, and sent two scouts to watch him play for Zenit St Petersburg against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League last week.

Garay only moved to Zenit in June for £12m, and his value has increased since he starred for Argentina in their run to the final of this summer’s World Cup final in Brazil.

No team currently sitting in the top half of the Premier League have leaked more goals than United’s tally of twelve, and their point at home to Chelsea yesterday afternoon kept them ten points behind Jose Mourinho’s men.

Their next game is at the home of neighbours Manchester City, where they can be backed at 16/5 to take all three points.
