United chief does not understand Real

Manchester United chief executive David Gill has admitted that he does not understand the ‘economics of what Real Madrid are doing’.

Real have splashed out an massive amount of cash on players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and Karim Benzema this summer.

“I don’t understand the economics of what Real Madrid are doing,” said Gill.

“Their turnover is not materially different to ours so I am not quite sure how they can make the profits to justify the salaries.

“It’s none of my business I suppose but I don’t think they can.”

Mr Gill instead of worrying what Madrid do in the transfer market maybe you should listen to the United fans and realise, with all due respect, the likes on Nani, new boy Valencia & Park will struggle to maintain high tempo football on either the left or right wings to push us to success in Europe. All we have done is recruit a young lad who will take time to adapt in Valencia, an aged & injury prone striker in Owen and finally a Frenchman in Obertan who will most likely barely make the bench! The likes of Macheda and Tosic still have so much to learn and to expect them to perform at high levels against the likes of Liverpool & Chelsea is unrealistic. There is still over a month left in the transfer window if our finances as a club are in good order, and we have 60 million to spend as you have said, then please do something!!!!! We don’t have to spend ridiculous amounts of money but if you think what we have recruited is sufficient to replace both Ronaldo and Tevez you must be living on another planet!
