Manchester United clinched a third consecutive English Premier League title with a goalless draw against Arsenal here on Saturday.
A point in the champions’ penultimate match of the campaign was enough to put United out of reach of Liverpool and ensure they equalled their rivals’ record of 18 league titles.
United also become the first club to have twice claimed three consecutive English titles, having also won three in a row between 2000/01 and 2002/03.
It was the 11th title United have won in Alex Ferguson’s 22-and-a-half years in charge and also the 11th in the 17 seasons since the launch of the FA Premier League in 1992-93.
