Manchester United are on the verge of completing the signing of Brazilian youngster Bruno Gomes from Desportivo Brasil, Record has revealed.
The Red Devils have long ago been alerted of the forward’s potential and the player even spent some time on a trial at Old Trafford.
Having been impressed by Gomes’ skills, Sir Alex Ferguson negotiated a first refusal option with Traffic, a company that owns the striker’s rights.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid, Sao Paulo and Udinese have joined the race for the highly rated footballer, but Record claims the Red Devils still have the upper hand.
The 17-year-old began his career at Palmeiras, but then moved to Desportivo Brasil, a club famous for giving a chance to young and talented players.
Bruno Gomes has been scoring goals for fun at the Under-17 level and chances are that he will complete a dream move to Old Trafford when he turns 18 next July.
