Manchester United seem to have pulled out of the race to sign Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov. The Bulgarian has attracted interest from the likes of Barcelona and AC Milan, but he was believed to be vying for a move to Old Trafford.
Now, according to The Times, that possibility has gone. Sir Alex Ferguson and Daniel Levy engaged in a public spat this transfer window which has left the relationship between the two clubs in tatters. This lead the Tottenham board to price Berbatov out of a move to Old Trafford.
The report claims that Tottenham are demanding £38 million for the services of the Bulgarian striker, but Manchester United feel there is no need to continue the negotiations as they value the player at around £30 million.
News of the World reports that Manchester United are now set to enter in a transfer race with Arsenal as both clubs share interest in both Klass-Jan Huntelaar or Ajax Amsterdam and Roque Santa Cruz of Blackburn Rovers.
